Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

FISHKILL, NY (June 25, 2007) - After defeating the Cyclones on Sunday when everything seemed to connect, the Renegades couldn't put a rally together in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Staten Island Yankees.

Starter Jason Ragan was unable to duplicate his last outing, allowing four runs (three earned) in 4 1/3 innings while walking four hitters tonight against the Yankees. The usually dominant bullpen appeared a bit shaky as well, surrendering three runs in the final 4 2/3 innings of work. Renegades hitters connected for eight hits, but also struck out eight times.

Despite the tough loss, the Renegades kept the game close due to a solid performance from several players. First baseman Henry Wrigley and third basemen Greg Sexson each banged out two hits while left fielder Stephen Vogt, right fielder Angel Fermin and designated hitter Shawn Williams each drove in a run. The bullpen, despite giving up three runs, received five combined strikeouts from Travis Barnett, Justin Garcia and Robert Della Grotta.

The Renegades will try to even up the series when the team travels to Staten Island tomorrow before returning to "The Dutch" in the series finale on Wednesday.
