Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Wichita Falls Wildcats forward Max Reisinger has been named as the South Division's Star of the Week in the North American Hockey League's Easton Divisional Stars of the Week, it was announced Monday.

"Max has really elevated his level of play over the past few months," said Wildcats Head Coach John LaFontaine. "He has worked hard all year to put himself in a position to be a key player for our team, which he has done thanks to that hard work, his ability to finish around the net and create plays for others. We are excited to see him find his stride with the Top Prospects Tournament right around the corner."

Reisinger's selection as Star of the Week marks his second weekly honor of the season, and comes after he registered a team-high four points against the Odessa Jackalaopes this past weekend. On Friday, the Austrian-born winger posted a pair of assists to help the Wildcats claim a 5-4 win over the Jacks, before notching a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win for Wichita Falls on Saturday.

Now in his second year with the Wildcats, Reisinger has found his offensive stride this season, reaching new high-water marks in goals (15), assists (14) and points (29). As a result of his strong play, Reisinger will be among five skaters representing Wichita Falls at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament later this month in Ann Arbor, Mich., along with Nick Farmer, Tommy Apap, Jake Townsend and Austin Beaulieu.

The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Reisinger is one of two Wildcats to garner Star of the Week honors this year, with Beaulieu the other after he received the award for the week of Sept. 29 after a five-point weekend against the Topeka Roadrunners.

The Wildcats are next in action when they host the Lone Star Brahmas in a pivotal match-up on Feb. 18 at the KYC. Puck drop is slated for 7:05 p.m., with 4-for-$24 tickets available for all fans by calling (940) 716-5555. Fans that cannot make it to the game may follow all the action on FASTHockey.com, with an audio-only broadcast available via YouTube.

Single-game tickets for the 2014-15 Wildcats season are on sale now at the Kay Yeager Coliseum box office. Stay updated on the latest team news and notes by connecting with the Wildcats on Facebook (WFWildcats), Twitter (@WFWildcats), Instagram (WFWildcats) and on YouTube (Wichita Falls Wildcats).
