
Reigning Knights of Georgia open inaugural season Nov. 13

Reigning Knights of Georgia News Release
Duluth, GA. Rufus Greer, Jr., GM of the ABA Reigning Knights of Georgia professional basketball team announced today that the team will take to the court on Sat, Nov 13th for its opening game on the road against the Nashville Rhythm. The Knights first home game is scheduled for Sat, Nov 20 at Buchanan Technical School Arena located in Norcross, Georgia. Buchanan Tech will serve as the Knights' home venue for the inaugural season. Bally's Total Fitness Center in Duluth will serve as the official practice site and training facility for the team.
The Knights are owned and operated by AFGM Sports Enterprises, LLC. Anne Banks serves as the CEO and President. Rufus Greer, Jr. serves in a dual capacity as both GM and Associate Head Coach. Greer brings over 25 years of playing and coaching experience to the Knights. "Both Anne and I are looking forward to bringing professional basketball to the Gwinnett County area. The enthusiasm and love of sports in this community is tremendous and we can't wait to get started," said Greer. Greer is also pleased to have on board a PR staff headed by Michell Kukendall and Greg Troxell. Ms. Kuykendall is also overseeing the Reign Drops, the official dance squad for the Reigning Knights.
The Reigning Knights will be under the direction of a veteran coaching staff led by
Head Coach Brian Couso, along with Coach Greer and Asst Coach Dennis Steward. Couso
helped lead the Long Beach Jam to the ABA Championship this past spring and has
previously worked under legendary NBA coach Pat Riley. "I'm very excited to have the
opportunity to coach again this year in the ABA and the talent on this team is
great," according to Couso. "This is a league that can launch careers into the NBA
and I'm confident the fans in Gwinnett County will not be disappointed in the level
of play." Dennis Steward not only brings his coaching expertise to the squad, but
also played in the ABA during some of the League's "glory" years, playing for the LA
Stars, Miami Floridians and Baltimore Bullets from 1969-1971. The following players
have been added to the Reigning Knights roster:

Jermaine Green, 6'8" University of North Texas
Marcus Williams, 6'2" Texas Tech University
Shawn Guillory, 5'9" Black Hawk College
Marvin Phillips, Jr 6'6" Claflin University
Byron Parker, 6'1" Tulane University
Marquis Wright, 6'8" University of Alabama
Mibinolo Dongo, 6'9" Allegany, Virginia Tech
