ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (5-0-1), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, beat the Idaho Steelheads (5-2-1) on home ice Saturday night shutting them out 5-0 to even the series a game apiece.

The first goal didn't come until the second period when the Reign came out strong and scored a total of three goals; all from skaters who had yet to score for the Reign during the playoffs.

Nick Ebert set up the play for the first goal as he centered the puck to Brady Calla who fired it on the net. The shot rebounded out to Mario Lamoureux who redirected it top shelf past Tyler Beskorowany just 2:48 into the period.

The Reign took a two-goal lead at 12:53 with Calla's first goal of the playoffs, his second point of the night. Brock Sheahan sent the puck along the boards up to Calla who chased it to the Steelheads blue line and skated it into their zone. At the bottom of the right face off circle Calla ripped a shot which beat Beskorowany glove side.

The third goal of the frame came from Cameron Burt at 17:15. Derek Couture kept the puck in at the blue line and Everett Sheen caught his shot at the slot but was met by a Steelheads defenseman. Sheen poked it free allowing Burt to one-time the loose puck in.

The final 20 minutes gave way to two more Reign goals.

Sheen earned another point when an unassisted wrist shot beat Beskorowany giving the Reign a 4-0 lead at 5:02.

Josh Robinson was sent in for the Steelheads to relieve Beskorowany after Sheen's goal.

Tempers ran high when a fight broke out between Matt Case and Calla, who earned a Gordie Howe Hat Trick with a goal, assist, and fight on the night. The altercation put the Reign on the power play for the fourth time.

A fresh goalie wasn't the answer for Idaho as Lamoureux scored his second goal of the night on the power play. Jake Hauswirth played the puck at the point and took a long shot on net. Robinson deflected the shot with his stick but sent it straight to the rookie who found a gap and the back of the Steelheads net.

JF Berube had the shutout stopping all 19 Steelheads shots; Beskorowany took the loss with 17 saves on 21 shots and Robinson had five saves on six shots.

Three Stars: 1. ONT - Mario Lamoureux 2. ONT - Brady Calla 3. ONT - Everett Sheen
