Reign FC Defeats Houston as Rosie White Scores in First Start

HOUSTON, TX. - Reign FC's Rosie White scored the only goal in a road win over the Houston Dash on Friday. White's goal and a sturdy defensive effort helped the club take all three points against the Dash.

White scored in the 21st minute. A Shea Groom shot from the top of the penalty area was blocked and White tussled with defender Ally Prisock for the ball, before breaking free and firing into the top net past Jane Campbell to score in her first start for the club.

White was named Reign FC's Player of the Match, taking four shots with three on target, including her goal. Playing as a midfielder, White completed 14 of her 18 passes.

The Dash put Reign FC's back line under pressure and outshot Reign FC 19-8, but could only put four shots on target the span of 90 minutes. Reign FC keeper Casey Murphy saved all four to keep her fourth clean sheet of the season.

Reign FC enters a busy week at home, hosting rivals Portland Thorns FC at Cheney Stadium on Wednesday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. PT before playing Utah Royals FC on Sunday, August 11 at 1:00 p.m. PT.
