The Week in Review
January 18 /08- Regina Pats -6 @ Kootenay Ice -5 SO
Linden Rowat stopped all three shooters he faced in a shootout to help the Regina Pats to a 6-5 win over the host Kootenay Ice on Friday ...Rowat stopped Steve DaSilva, Dustin Sylvester and Andrew Bailey in the shootout after overtime decided nothing... Rudolf Cerveny, the Pats' first shooter, scored to give Regina the only goal it needed...The Pats improved to 29-15-3-1 while Kootenay went to 27-15-3-1...Early in the game, the Pats overcame a case of road legs to keep pace with the Ice...Regina scored the first goal of the game as the Pats opened a three-game weekend road trip with some of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.... The Ice rebounded with four straight first-period goals to grab a 4-1 lead...Regina tied the contest 4-4 after two periods and the teams traded goals in the third... Rudolf Cerveny scored twice while Scott Doucet, Michael MacAngus and Jordan Eberle added single for the Pats... Matt Delahey and Tim Kraus each had a pair of assists for Regina...Rowat finished with 26 saves on the night. Jeff Bosch, who played the final five minutes of the first period after Rowat allowed two quick goals, stopped two of the three shots he faced.
January 19/08- Regina Pats - 2 @ Calgary Hitmen - 1
Linden Rowat stopped 25 of 26 shots as the Regina Pats won their 5th straight game 2-1 over the host Calgary Hitmen Saturday night ... The Pats improved to 30-15-3-1 while Calgary went to 32-13-1-2... The game opened up with the Hitmen scoring just a minute in as Brandon Kozun launched one over Rowat to make the score 1-0... It would stay that way until J.D Watt would score his 1st as a Pat to knot things at ones ...Before the 2nd period was over Jordan Eberle scored his 8th game winner on a pretty feed from Tim Kraus to give the Pats the lead and the eventual win ... The Pats were 0 for 3 with the man advantage while the Hitmen went 0 for 1 ... The win also snapped the Hitmen 8 game winning streak ...
January 20/08- Regina Pats - 3 @ Lethbridge Hurricanes -2 OT
The Pats moved their record to 31-15- 3-1 Sunday night after a big 3-2 overtime victory in Lethbridge... After a scoreless 1st period the Pats opened the scoring as Tim Kraus continued his torrid pace scoring his 4th goal and 12th point in the last 6 games, to put the Pats up 1-0 ... The Hurricanes would respond less than 3 minutes later when Carter Ashton would score his 2nd career goal to knot things up after two ... In the 3rd the Canes' would take their first lead of the game when Carter Bancks would score a rap around goal to make the score 2-1 ... The Pats would answer right back when leading scorer Jordan Eberle would score his 30th goal of the season, just 4 minutes later to again tie things up ... With 8 minutes remaining the Pats seemed to score the go ahead goal as J.D Watt beat the Canes net minder .... But referee's Devin Klein and Ryan Thompson waved off the goal and moved the game to overtime ... In the extra frame J.D Watt would score again, and give the Pats the overtime victory and the clean sweep of Alberta... Jeff Bosch got the win in net for the Pats, while Michael Maniago was tagged with the loss ...
New Look Pats Off To Fantastic Start...
Since January 1st the Regina Pats have a record of 6-0-2-0 which puts them only 2 points out of 1st place in the Eastern Conference ... Since the trades that saw the Pats pick up 3 new forward and 3 new defencemen the Pats have not been defeated in regulation and have put together 6 straight victories ... J.D Watt has been the best of the newly acquired players scoring 2 goals and adding 3 assists for 5 points in 7 games, including the overtime winner Sunday night in Lethbridge ...
Eberle Hits 30 ...
Pats' 17 year old forward Jordan Eberle scored his 30th goal of the season Sunday night in the 3-2 overtime victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes ... Of his 30 goals this season, Eberle leads the league with 8 game winning goals, as well as 11 powerplay markers ...The sophomore has already hit a career high in goals after recording 28 last season ... The native of Regina, SK has 9 points in his last 6 games helping the Pats go 6-0-0-0 in those games ....
Top Line Leads The Way ...
The Regina Pats' top line has been more than impressive during their 6 game winning streak ... The line of Jordan Eberle, Tim Kraus and Michael MacAngus have lead the way combining for 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in the past 6 games ... The line has also combined for a + 23 rating showing they are dominating the play 5 on 5 ...

Pats prospects are making noise in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League as four Pats' list players played in the All-Star Game on Saturday in Saskatoon ... Regina Pat Canadians goaltender Derek Tendler, Defencemen Byron Sorenson and forward Spencer Braaten from the Saskatoon Blazers and Clark Breitkreuz of the Beardy's Blackhawks all took part in Saturday's contest ... Tendler the Pats 5th round Bantam Draft pick in 2007 played for Team South, while Sorenson the 8th round Bantam pick in 2006 teamed up with list players Braaten and Breitkreuz on Team North ..
Two Pats' Head to CHL Top Prospects Game This Week...
The Regina Pats will send two players to this year's Top Prospect game, as Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert were both selected to play for Team Red at the upcoming Top Prospects game which will be played this Wednesday, in Edmonton.
6th Annual Regina Pats Sportsman's Dinner
The 6th annual Regina Pats Sportsman's Dinner is scheduled for this Thursday, February 7th. The event will take place at the IPSCO place, and hosts an impressive line of delegates. The guest speakers for the event will be former NHL players Stu Grimson and Theo Fleury. The Master of Ceremonies for the dinner will be Pete Loubardias from Sportsnet, while comedian Johnny "Bag Pipes" Johnson will provide the entertainment for the evening.
