Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats dropped a hard fought 3-1 decision to the Broncos in Swift Current on Saturday afternoon. Regina got the game's first goal with the powerplay when Libor Hajek slapped home his 10th of the season and it was 1-0 after 20 minutes. Swift Current drew even on a Glenn Gawdin tip and the game was tied heading to the third.
In the final frame, Gawdin scored his second of the night to make it 2-1 and then the Broncos added an empty netter for a 3-1 victory. The Pats were outshot 44-23, the powerplay was one for four and the penalty kill four for five. Ryan Kubic made 41 saves in the Regina goal, Stuart Skinner with 22 saves for Swift Current. The Pats (25-21-5-0) will host Swift Current in a rematch on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
