JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight's game against the Montgomery Biscuits at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 7:05 p.m.

Left-handed relief pitcher Chris Reed has been transferred from Single-A Greensboro to Jacksonville. Reed pitched in three games for the Grasshoppers in relief, going 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in five innings of work. Reed was signed by the Marlins as a minor league free agent on April 20, after he had spent last year in retirement. Reed previously pitched for Jacksonville in 2016, going 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA in four appearances and two starts. In 2015, Reed pitched in two games in the major leagues for the Marlins, with no wins or losses and a 4.50 ERA.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.

The Jumbo Shrimp return home Thursday, June 28, to begin a six-game series with the Montgomery Biscuits on Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, with $1 12-oz. and $2 24-oz. beers at select locations, plus $1 sodas at the main concession stands. The game is Teacher Appreciation Night.
