
RedHawks Sign Rookie Hurler O'Neill

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed rookie LHP Shawn O'Neill to a contact and will give him the start as the club opens a four-game series with the Wichita Wingnuts on Sunday night at Newman Outdoor Field.
O'Neill, 23, completed his college career at La Salle University in Philadelphia this year. He was 5-7 with a 4.38 ERA and five saves in 22 games (12 starts). O'Neill struck out 51 batters and walked 21. In 2013, he was 5-7 with a 6.40 ERA in 15 games (12 starts) for the Explorers. O'Neill began his college career at the University of Richmond, where he pitched in 2010 and 2011. He sat out the 2012 season after transferring to La Salle.
The RedHawks kick of an eight-game home stand tonight at 6:00 p.m. against the Wichita Wingnuts. It's the first of four games against the South Division leaders, which will be followed by a four-game series at Newman Outdoor Field against the Gary SouthShore RailCats starting Thursday night.
