Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks made a pair of roster moves prior to Sunday's game against the Sioux City Explorers. The club has signed INF Mike Gilmartin and released RHP Dan Sattler.

Gilmartin, 29, spent time this year with both the St. Paul Saints and the Lincoln Saltdogs. He batted .326 with three doubles, three home runs, ten RBIs and 12 runs scored in 13 games before being traded to Lincoln. Gilmartin appeared in 16 games for the Saltdogs and batted .175 with one double, one home run, four RBIs and five runs scored before being released in late June. Gilmartin had spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Saltdogs.

Gilmartin began his professional career in 2009 after being selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 27th round of the 2009 draft out of Wofford College (SC). He spent four seasons in the A's chain before splitting time in 2013 between the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds farm systems. He reached the Double-A level with the Reds that season.

In his eight year career, Gilmartin has batted .248 with 132 doubles, 15 triples, 51 home runs, 312 RBIs and 328 runs scored in 713 games. A versatile defender, he has seen time at shortstop, third base and second base in his career.

Sattler was 2-2 with a 5.10 ERA in 24 appearances for Fargo-Moorhead this season.
