GAME NOTES:

-THE LEAD: Aaron Thompson worked three perfect innings behind Andrew Albers to earn his first career Triple-A save as the Wings got RBI from Doug Bernier, Danny Lehmann, Antoan Richardson and Ray Olemedo to knock off the Charlotte Knights 4-3 Thursday night at Frontier Field... The Wings have now won a season-high three straight games at Frontier Field.

-After missing the last 14 games with a quad injury, OF Clete Thomas returned to the lineup on Thursday and went 0-for-4.. Despite, missing 2 weeks, Thomas still ranks second on the team in home runs (6), RBI (17) and extra-base hits (11).

-INF Deibinson Romero made his Triple-A debut after being promoted from Double-A New Britain on Wednesday. The 26-year-old third baseman went 0-for-4... He left New Britain with a 6-game hitting streak (11-for-25) and a 3-game homer streak.

-Wings starter Andrew Albers turned in his 5th consecutive "quality start" but saw his streak of not allowing an earned run end at 23.2 innings in the 4th inning on a Lars Anderson RBI single... Over his last 5 starts Albers is now 2-2 with a 1.47 ERA (5 ER/30.2 IP)... Albers did allow a career-high 10 hits (5 doubles) Thursday night.

-Brian Dinkelman (3-for-3, 2 doubles) led the bottom third of the Red Wings lineup that went 6-for-9 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI... In comparison, the 3-4-5 hitters in the order went 0-for-12... Coming into Thursday's game, Dinkelman was just 7-for-48 with one extra-base hit in 17 home games

-Thompson has now worked 5 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts in his first 2 appearances with the Wings this season... The former 1st round pick of the Marlins in 2005, has not allowed a run in his last 17.1 innings combined between New Britain and Rochester.

-The Wings won just their 4th series opener of the season and first since May 2 at Columbus (4-10 on the year in series openers).
