
Red Roof Inns Extends Partnership As Official Hotel of the ECHL

PRINCETON, N.J. Â The East Coast Hockey League announced on Wednesday that an agreement has been reached extending the marketing partnership with Accor Economy Lodging/Red Roof Inns through the 2002-03 season.
Red Roof Inns will continue to receive league-wide exposure as the "Official Hotel of the ECHL" through ECHL media, signage, promotional materials, and on the official web site of the ECHL. Red Roof Inns will provide a discounted rate for all ECHL member teams and fans.
"The ECHL is proud to extend this relationship with Red Roof Inns," said Glen Thornborough, Vice President of Marketing/Sales for the ECHL. "This partnership continues to be beneficial to not only our teams, officials and executives, but also to our fans."

Formed in 1988-89 with five teams in three states, the ECHL enters its 15th Anniversary season with 28 teams in 14 states, including its newest market in Lexington, Kentucky. The ECHL will welcome two new markets in 2003-04 with the addition of Gwinnett County, Georgia and Southeast (Beaumont) Texas. The ECHL has seen 191 players advance to the NHL along with coaches, officials and front office personnel. There were 82 former ECHL players that played in the NHL in 2001-02 and 25 of the 30 NHL teams developed players with ECHL affiliates.
