Elmira, NY - The winter temperatures have finally arrived in the Twin Tiers but the Elmira Jackals are preparing for sizzling weekend of hockey at First Arena as they host the Flint Generals for three games beginning Friday January 12th.
Friday night is Go Army night at the First Arena as the Jackals begin their 3-game set against Flint. Representatives from the United States Army will be at the game with information tables and Army giveaways. Williams Toyota is sponsoring the Chuck-A-Puck intermission, so instead of shooting for the Center Ice face-off dot, Chuck-A-Puck throwers will attempt to land their puck into the bed of a shiny new Toyota truck from Williams Toyota in Sayre, PA. Friday night WETM-2 will again be broadcasting the Jackals game on TV; the game will air on WETM-2 (Time Warner Channel 11) on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
Saturday night is Manpower Employee Appreciation Night for the Jackals versus Generals round two. Manpower will be handing out 500 hand clappers at the gate adorned with the Manpower/Jackals logo. Manpower will also be handing out information about their Direct Hire program. Saturday is also WETM CD giveaway night. WETM will be giving away a music CD mix of Jackals songs, including past and present songs played during Jackals games at First Arena.
Sunday is another WINK 106 FM/Bobby K Family Day at the First Arena. As the Jackals conclude their weekend series with the Flint Generals, kids can enjoy Wax Candle Art on the concourse courtesy of Bobby K. Erwin Valley School is hosting a group night and Sunday will also feature a post game skate with the Jackals players open all fans in attendance for the game.
The Jackals are home all weekend long, beginning Friday, January 12th as they host the Flint Generals at 7:35 pm for the first of three-straight home games against Flint at First Arena. Saturday's game time against Flint is also at 7:35 pm, while Sunday's face off with the Generals is set for 4:05 pm.
UPCOMING JACKALS COMMUNITY APPEARANCES
Monday January 15th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 the Jackals will be at the Arnot Mall to meet fans and sign autographs at Center Court.
Tuesday January 16th is Tip-A-Jackal night at Applebee's. Come enjoy great food and be served by your favorite Jackals as the team will be acting as waiters and bartenders from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Applebee's located at 877 County Route 64 in Elmira.
Wednesday January 17th is the UHL All-Star Classic live from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jackals All-Stars Brent Cullaton, Scott Wray and Dale Lupul will be representing
Elmira as they suit up for the Eastern Conference All-Stars. The UHL has offered a
