Red Dogs sign television deal
February 4, 2003 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Black Hills Red Dogs News Release
The Rapid City Red Dogs have signed an exclusive contract with KCPM and affiliate of UPN network, for the 2003 season. UPN will broadcast all of Rapid City's away football games this season. "There is a lot of excitement in the air here in Rapid City now, after almost four months on the bargaining table, KCPM finally gave us a shot," stated Mike Esposito. "We feel that we offer a great product and the network was in agreement, the hardest hill to climb was finding a time to air the games in a "primetime" slot. So last Wednesday Star Trek was moved and Red Dog Football was in for the spring programming."
Coach Maciejczak says "I am very excited for the opportunity to highlight not only our team but Rapid City as a whole. We are a smaller media market but now we hopefully will be among the elite in our league. This is an extremely big thing for our city and our organization as a whole and I applaud Coach Esposito for fighting for this until he won. Now we need to get some businesses behind this and we will become very successful in highlighting our product throughout the Black Hills Viewing area.
