Red Dogs Head East With Newfound Confidence

The Black Hills Red Dogs will be heading east this Saturday to take on interstate rival Sioux Falls Storm. The Storm are coming off of a win against the Evansville Bluecats in the United Indoor Football Leagues (UIF) first overtime game in league history. History however is the foundation of the Red Dogs versus Storm rivalry. History is what the Red Dogs will be overcoming on Saturday. The Red Dogs are 1-7 versus the Storm over the past three years.

The Black Hills Red Dogs are coming off their first win of the season as they beat Conference rival the Omaha Beef 44-34 on Saturday May 21, 2005. The Red Dogs are hopeful that one of their key defensive players will be back from injury. DB Shedrick Harris was out of Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury. Harris is tied with Sioux Falls DB/LB Mark Blackburn for the league lead in solo tackles with 42. Harris is also 4th in the league with overall tackles

The Red Dogs are playing with newfound confidence and are eager to take to the road and get their next win. The Red Dogs are hopeful to make the playoffs but are taking it week by week. Head Coach Dick Lemke said, "We should have some momentum going into Sioux Falls. It will be a tough game because Sioux Falls usually plays us tough. I have a high regard for Sioux Falls, they are usually one of the top franchises in the league."
