Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, MAINE - With the Maine Red Claws basketball operations staff busy in Boston this weekend seeking players for the 2011-12 team, the Red Claws' sales and marketing staff will be looking for a few players of their own during the team's 3rd Annual Pick-A-Seat Weekend open house at the Expo.

"We are going to give fans a chance to win a season ticket for the 2011-12 season by taking a halfcourt shot," said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. "Last season we had five winners - I'm a little worried that perhaps the members of Crustacean Nation have been practicing, and we may end up giving away even more this season!"

The Red Claws Pick-A-Seat Weekend will be held this Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11, at the Portland Expo from 10 AM - 4 PM. In addition to the opportunity to win a season ticket, fans will be able check out the newly refurbished parquet floor up close, as well as the newly-installed banners in honor of the team's new NBA affiliate the Philadelphia 76ers and 2011 NBA Development League Rookie of the Year DeShawn Sims.

"The Pick-A-Seat event is a nice way for our staff to meet with Red Claws fans one-on-one and open the doors of the Expo for people to see what the experience of a game might be. It's a great opportunity for group leaders to look over the facilities available, for people thinking about purchasing season tickets to literally pick out the seats they want, or for the casual fan to come in and shoot around on the parquet floor. And of course, to take a shot at winning a season ticket."

Season and Group tickets for the 2011-12 season are currently available and may be purchased by calling (207) 210-6655, in person at the Red Claws offices located at 413 Congress Street in Portland, or online at www.MaineRedClaws.com. Individual tickets for the 2011-12 season will go on sale in late October. The Red Claws will play 24 home games this season, 23 of which will fall on weekend dates, with the home opener set for Saturday, December 3. Individual ticket prices range from $6 - $30 while season tickets begin at just $240.
