Red Bulls Sign Midfielder Ruben Izquierdo

HARRISON, NJ (Feb. 8, 2013) - The New York Red Bulls announced today that they signed midfielder Ruben Izquierdo. Izquierdo will be added to New York's roster pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.

"Ruben is a very interesting young player with a lot of potential. He is technically very good and his willingness to work and learn bodes well for his future development," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh.

Izquierdo, 20, joins the Red Bulls after playing for English side, Charlton Athletic since 2011. The Spaniard went on loan to Spanish side, CD San Roque de Lepe during the 2011-12 season, scoring one goal in 10 appearances. Prior to going to Charlton, Izquierdo was a member of Halesowen Town from 2010-11, making 18 appearances and scoring two goals. A product of Mallorca's academy, Izquierdo signed with Kidderminster Harriers in 2009.
