April 2, 2014 - Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL)
Bloomington Edge News Release

A record-setting night by a Bloomington Edge return specialist has earned him a weekly award from the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.

LaVaughn Macon was named CPIFL Special Teams Player of the Week today after returning 10 kicks for 219 yards in Saturday's heart-stopping 70-69 home loss to the Omaha Beef. Macon broke his own CPIFL single-game return record, surpassing his 209-yard effort on March 15, 2013 against the Sioux City Bandits.

The Omaha quarterback-receiver tandem of Chris Coffin and Anthony Parks share CPIFL Offensive Player of the Week honors after their win in Bloomington last Saturday. Coffin broke his own CPIFL record with nine touchdown passes while Parks set two league marks with six touchdown receptions and 38 points.

Jecorey Quarterman of the Dodge City Law, this week's Edge opponent, is the CPIFL Defensive Player of the Week after recording seven tackles and one crucial sack as his team handed the Salina Bombers their first loss of the season, 34-31.

The Edge (0-3) host the Dodge City Law (2-2) at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Long-time Bloomington indoor football kicker Peter Christofilakos will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
