The Rays sent a team-record 16 batters to the plate in the fourth inning, scoring 12 runs on seven hits, four walks, two hit batsmen, and one Royals error. Ten of the 12 runs in the frame were notched with two outs.
The offensive barrage began as center fielder Emilio Gustave was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the Rays first run. The scoring continued on a RBI-groundout by shortstop Adrian Rondon. In all, Davis led the team with three hits on the night while Cabrera and Rojas added two apiece. Both Cabrera and Rondon also notched three RBI in the victory.
