RALEIGH NC - The American Indoor Football League has announced that Raleigh Rebels Linebacker John Williamson has been named American Indoor Football League Defensive Player of the Week for week 3 of the season. Williamson, (6' 2", 235, East Carolina) was named because of his outstanding defensive performance during the Rebel's game against previously unbeaten Chattahoochee Valley. Williamson had 7 tackles, two of which went for losses, 2 forced fumbles and 2 sacks in the Rebels' 53- 44 victory. Williamson's output has helped place the Rebels atop the Southern Division with a perfect 3-0 record. This is the third consecutive player of the week honor for the Raleigh Rebels.
