Rebels Outlast Tigers 5-2

Despite leading for two periods, the Medicine Hat Tigers fell 5-2 to the Red Deer Rebels.

Four unanswered goals in the third period helped the Rebels to victory. Kristians Reichel and Brandon Hagel each netted two goals in the final frame to win the game. Both players had a power play goal and an even strength goal.

Hagel's final goal was an empty net goal and his third of the night.

Kristians Rubins struck first for the Tabbies with a power play goal just over five minutes into the game. Rubins shot from the slot through traffic was set up by Ryan Jevne and Ryan Chyzowski on the power play.

Hagel responded for the Rebels 28 seconds later to bring the game back to a stalemate and score his first of the evening.

During a three on two break early in the middle frame, Bryan Lockner shot the puck off the post and in to regain the lead. David Quenneville and James Hamblin combined on the play.

Despite firing 36 shots on net, Tigers were unable to solve Ethan Anders more than twice.

Michael Bullion stopped 27 of the Rebels' 31 shots including a Grayson Pawlenchuk breakaway in the third period.

The Orange and Black are now 35-26-8-0 and will host the Calgary Hitmen Tuesday night at the Canalta Centre. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.
