Synopsis: The Ottawa Rebel battled against the defending NLL champion Toronto Rock but fell short during a 13-10 defeat at the Air Canada Centre. The loss keeps the Rebel winless against Toronto in franchise history (0-6). Trailing 6-1 early in the second quarter, the Rebel fought back with four unanswered goals to end the second quarter and trailed by a lone goal (5-6) at halftime. But the Rock regained control -- and the momentum -- early in the third quarter by scoring the first three goals of the frame.
The Rebel got to within a pair of goals when captain Bruce Codd scored his second goal of the game at 9:06 of the fourth quarter, but the Rock sealed the victory when Kevin Finneran scored his fourth goal of the game with 1:42 remaining.
Fast Facts: Ottawa falls to 0-6 against Toronto in franchise history ... The Rebel does not play Toronto again this season, unless the clubs meet in the playoffs ... First time in franchise history Ottawa managed to score 10 goals in a game against Toronto ... Ottawa went 2-for-5 on the powerplay ... Rebel captain Bruce Codd recorded his first multi-goal game of the season and reached 20 goals in his NLL career ... The Rock held Ottawa forward Kevin Dostie off the scoresheet, snapping a five-game goal-scoring streak for Dostie, an Orleans resident .... Rebel forward Kevin Howard recorded two goals and two assists. He is the only Rebel player to score at least one goal and have one assist in each of Ottawa's seven games this season ... Toronto outshot Ottawa 47-40.
