Real Salt Lake Visits Orlando City Stadium Sunday Afternoon
May 5, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake (3-4-1, 10 pts, 6th West) continues its Major League Soccer campaign Sunday afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. MT kickoff at Orlando City Stadium against former boss Jason Kreis and Orlando, continuing a road-heavy run that sees Head Coach Mike Petke's side play four of five MLS matches away from home including last Friday's 0-2 loss at Vancouver.
Sunday's broadcast coverage kicks off at 2:00p MT on ESPN700 AM with Bill Riley, Jay Nolly and Spencer Warne & Tom Hackett, while video streaming and broadcast begins at 8:00p MT on KMYU TV and the KSL digital streaming app, with David James and Brian Dunseth again joined by Samantha Yarock, RSL's pre-/post-game host and sideline reporter.
Sunday's trip to Central Florida is just the club's second-ever, while Sunday's Orlando City Stadium visit marks the first of three maiden voyages during the 2018 season to venues which the Claret-and-Cobalt have never seen. On Wednesday, August 15, RSL travels to face expansion side LAFC in the new Banc of California Stadium, while on Saturday, Sept. 22, the Utah side plays at second-year Atlanta United for the first time in Georgia, at the spectacular Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

RSL drew 2-2 at Orlando on Opening Day 2016, riding a pair of Joao Plata goals to take a 2-0 lead late despite a first-half ejection for DF Demar Phillips. However, RSL conceded a pair of stoppage-time goals to the home side and was forced to split the points. A year ago, at Rio Tinto Stadium, Orlando won 1-0 to improve to 2-0-0 all-time against the Utah side.
With a win Sunday, RSL could reward legendary Major League Soccer GK Nick Rimando with career MLS reg. season victory. Known as the "Wall of the Wasatch," Rimando owns virtually every meaningful record in MLS annals, with 460 games played (all starts), 199 wins, 139 shutouts, 41,500+ minutes and 1,550+ saves (and counting.)
