SALT LAKE CITY (Monday, November 13th, 2006) Real Salt Lake is pleased to announce that the organization will once again participate in several community goodwill initiatives surrounding the holiday season.
HOLIDAY CARD DESIGN CONTEST: Get in the holiday spirit early this year by participating in Real Salt Lake's "Holiday Card Design Contest"! Kids 17 years of age and under are encouraged to submit their entries between now and Wednesday, November 22nd. All entries must be mailed or delivered to the Real Salt Lake front office, located at 515 South 700 East Suite 2R (Trolley Corners) in Salt Lake City. Please mail the cards to: Attention: RSL Holiday Committee.
One winning entry will be showcased this year on Real Salt Lake's official holiday card - with multiple entries being showcased throughout December on www.realsaltlake.com. The winning entry will be chosen by RSL's Holiday Committee by November 27.
RSL TO SPONSOR CHRISTMAS DAY HOMELESS FEEDING: Volunteers needed! RSL will be serving dinner on Monday, December 25 to those without a home or meal on Christmas Day. Volunteers are needed to help serve and hand out gifts to children throughout the morning. Please contact Jamie Barton at jbarton@realsaltlake.com or call 801-924-8580 for more information or to volunteer your services. The more the merrier!!
RSL TO HOLD COLLECTION DRIVE FOR LESS FORTUNATE: RSL will once again have a collection drive in the front office throughout the month of December to benefit less fortunate families. All donated items will be delivered to The Road Home on December 21st during the Simmons Media Group's live radio-athon.
Beginning December 4, fans are encouraged to visit the front office and donate new or gently used clothes for adults, teenagers, children and infants. Other items, such as hygiene and grooming products, are also welcome. For a full list of items, please visit www.theroadhome.org and click on "Holiday Events."
In conjunction with the drive, RSL will be running a merchandise sale with all items 40% off including Real Madrid products, tee shirts, hats, scarves, mini balls, and jerseys. As a token of RSL's gratitude, fans donating to the collection drive will receive an extra 10% off of RSL merchandise.
The Road Home's mission is to help people step out of homelessness and back into the community through emergency services, personalized case management and collaboration with additional resources.
"TREE OF MANY WISHES" TO BE DISPLAYED AT RSL FRONT OFFICE: Additionally, RSL will have a "Tree of Many Wishes" displayed in the front office focused around the needs of children and teenagers. Fans are welcome to choose ornaments from the tree which have a variety of gift ideas specific to age and gender and return the unwrapped gifts to the RSL front office by Wednesday, December 20. Again, each donor will receive 50% off of RSL merchandise as a thank you from the RSL organization.
