Real Salt Lake Gameday Preview

Real Salt Lake News Release

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, June 18, 2009) - Fresh off its first away win of the 2009 campaign last weekend in Los Angeles, Real Salt Lake (4-6-3, 15 pts.) will look to double-up on its recent road fortune this Saturday, June 20, when the Utah side travels to the Lone Star State for a match-up with the Western Conference co-leading Houston Dynamo (8-2-3, 27 pts.). Saturday's showdown from Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston is slated for a 6:30 p.m. MT kickoff, with television coverage on KUTV 2.2 Digital (Comcast 111) beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report at 6:00 p.m. Fans can also tune in to RSL's official radio partners: KALL 700 Sports (America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report begins at 5:30 p.m.) and "Ke Buena" 1600-AM to hear all the action live from Houston.

Saturday's match will mark the first of three meetings in as many months between the two Western Conference combatants, with RSL set to host the Dynamo at Rio Tinto Stadium on Aug. 15, before returning to Houston on Sept. 19, for the finale in the season series. Real Salt Lake enters the weekend 2-5-2 all-time against Houston, and is still looking to bring back its first points from Robertson Stadium after going 0-4-0 there across the last three seasons.

If recent history is any indication fans can expect a shootout on Saturday, as the Dynamo have downed Real Salt Lake by a 4-3 scoreline in each of the last two meetings in Houston, including last season's wild affair on Aug. 16, that featured seven different goal scorers on the evening. Real Salt Lake shouldn't be phased by Houston's current 10-game undefeated streak (8-0-2), as the Utah side is now 4-1-1 all-time against teams with at least a nine-game undefeated streak after ending the L.A. Galaxy's 10-game run last weekend.
