Real Salt Lake Gameday Preview: Saturday, May 16 v. K.C. Wizards

SANDY, UTAH (Friday, May 15, 2009) - Real Salt Lake (3-4-1, 10 pts.) will look to maintain its undefeated record in regular season play at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, May 16, when the Claret-and-Cobalt welcome the Kansas City Wizards (3-4-2, 11 pts.) to Sandy for a 7:00 p.m. MT kick-off (live on KUTV 2.2 Digital / Comcast 111, KALL 700 Sports, and Ke Buena 1600-AM). Tickets for tomorrow night's RSL-Wizards showdown are still available and can be purchased online at www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the phone at 888-4RSLTIX (888-477-5849), or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office, open on gameday beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT.

Included below is information on specific activities and events surrounding tomorrow night's contest in Sandy:

Real Salt Lake and KFC Restaurants have teamed up to offer a two-for-one special in the KFC Colonel's Corner for the contest against the Wizards. Fans purchasing the $15 vouchers from any one of the 35 participating KFC Restaurants across the Salt Lake valley can redeem them for tickets at the KFC Booth in Carnival Real (located on the east side lawn) from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Gates to Rio Tinto Stadium for the contest will open at 6:00 p.m., an hour prior to the 7:00 p.m. kickoff. Media Will Call (west side Box Office) will open at 5:00 p.m. for media members needing to collect day-of-game credentials and parking passes in advance of the contest.

The Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office and Ticket Will Call windows will open at 10:00 a.m.

The RSL Team Store (located in the Stadium's northeast corner) also opens at 10:00 a.m., and will continue its "Item of the Week" special - RSL replica away jerseys (adult for $50, youth for $35) through the end of the contest (while supplies last). With the goal-scoring prowess RSL has displayed at Rio Tinto Stadium through its first four home matches, the RSL Merchandise Department also encourages fans to take advantage of its "We Score, Fans Score" gameday special at its "U-$20 Booth" across from Section 37 (east concourse). All items at the booth start at $20 and under, with prices being slashed 10% every time the Claret-and-Cobalt strike the back of the net (up to 40% off, discount cannot be combined with any other offers).

The popular Carnival Real pre-game festival opens up at 5:00 p.m. and will include rock-n-roll classics by top-40 cover band North Forty (visit www.northfortyband.com for a set list), the chance to sign up to be the Anheuser-Busch "Designated Driver of the Game," and the always-fun carnival area featuring a 3-v-3 field for pick-up play, inflatable games and sponsor giveaways.

Real Salt Lake and the US Soccer Foundation invite fans to donate their new or gently-used soccer equipment as part of the annual Passback Program. Fans can drop off shoes, balls, uniforms, shinguards, and any other soccer-related equipment they can give at the Passback booth in Carnival Real from 5:00-7:00 p.m. For more information on how to give back through the Passback Program, visit www.passback.org.

In addition, Soccer Unites Utah will be on hand in Carnival Real to sell the new "Kickin' It in the Kitchen" cookbook, featuring recipes compiled by the RSL family. All the proceeds earned from the $20 cookbook will go towards Soccer Unites Utah and its efforts to bring assistance to those fighting cancer (visit www.SoccerUnitesUtah.com to purchase your cookbook online).

As part of the launch of the "Click it or Ticket" campaign launch this weekend, the Utah Department of Safety will bring to Carnival Real "The Convincer," a crash simulator that shows what can happen when drivers and passengers are not buckled up properly.
