Real Monarchs Host LA Galaxy II in 2021 Home Opener

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs will take the pitch at Zions Bank Stadium for the first time in 2021 for its home-opening match against LA Galaxy II on Friday, May 14. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. MT and can be streamed live on ESPN+ and locally on the KSL TV app.

Head-to-Head: Real Monarchs and LA Galaxy II are an even 4-4-2 all-time through 10 matches with a plus three goal difference giving the nod to the Monarchs. Additionally, the Monarchs own the advantage at Zions Bank Stadium with an all-time record of 3-1-1 and a plus nine goal difference.

The previous match between the sides was on September 7, 2019 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The match ended 3-1 in favor of Galaxy II after Los Dos scored two goals in the first 15 minutes. Following a third goal for the Galaxy in the 68th minute, now-RSL midfielder Justin Portillo helped the Monarchs avoid the shutout in the 88th minute with a left-footed curler into the top left corner.

Connections: LA Galaxy II defender Josh Drack spent part of his youth career with Real Salt Lake Arizona Academy in 2015-16 before moving to the Portland Timbers academy the following season.

Notes: Real Monarchs boast a 49-21-19 all-time home record with a goal differential of plus 65. In regular-season home openers the Monarchs are 3-1-2 all-time, including an all-time undefeated record of 1-0-1 in regular-season home openers at Zions Bank Stadium.
