Real Maryland Monarchs News Release

Silver Spring, MD - Real Maryland FC is proud to announce that it will be fielding its first Super Y League Team on the Girls side of the United Soccer Leagues in 2010. The U13 Monarch Girls will be led by Brett Menge who is currently involved with the Seneca Soccer Association.

The future of soccer lives in the USL Super Y-League, a professionalized system that is the first step for developing elite youth soccer players in North America. Through Olympic Development Program status events such as the North American Finals and National ODP Camps, the nation's top players are identified for selection to US National Team Programs. The 2010 campaign features over 800 teams within the U13 - U17 boys and girls age groups competing within 10 geographic divisions of the U.S. and Canada.

Coach Menge has been involved in the DC area youth soccer scene for the last 7 years. During this stint, he has been a member of the Board of Directors for two local soccer clubs and as a representative to the elite area soccer leagues.

His teams have a long list of accomplishments including WAGS, OBSL and MSI Classic Division Championships, two Maryland Futsal State Cups, a third place ranking in the National Futsal Championships and 14 Championships in Regional and National level tournaments.

"We couldn't have selected a better candidate to start our girl's side of Real Maryland FC," says General Manager David Noyes. "I have full confidence that Coach Menge will do well in the Super Y and that other future Monarch teams will follow in his team's footsteps."

Coach Menge is currently coaching the SSA Hornets who are currently in U13 WAGS DII. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, holds USYSA coaching and training licenses and runs his own consulting firm.

Real Maryland FC participates in the Second Division of the United Soccer Leagues. All 2009 Regular Season Home Games will be played at Lester Stadium at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD.
