Reading Express News Release

Reading, Pa. (January 27, 2011) - The Reading Express indoor pro football organization has officially announced the 2011 Smokin' Hot Steam Team. The new season brings a new direction for the popular Steam Team, which in the past was primarily focused on performing a dance routine during Reading Express home games.

For 2011, the Steam Team transitions into an ambassador role for the Express organization. The move is fitting, considering the organization's heavy community involvement in Reading and Berks County. The Steam Team has been increasingly present at all sorts of public events, and will continue to be so in the future.

"It is with great enthusiasm that we are forging ahead with the new model of the team," said Lisa Lavender, chief operating officer of the Reading Express. "The vision for the team is to play a key role in public relations and fan engagement. This is just another positive step in our initiatives to become part of Greater Reading's culture and contribute to the efforts of making our region great."

This year's new fashion look brings a sporty football-style uniform and a business outfit. The new wardrobe is more conducive for the variety of events the Steam Team girls participate in.

The 2011 Steam Team returns four from last year's squad, and adds seven rookies to the mix.
