Reading Express News Release
Reading, PA -February20, 2012 The Reading Express introduced their 2012 roster at their annual Kickoff Party at the Berkshire Mall on Saturday.
"It was great to see so many of your fans and supporters of the Express organization," said co-owner Lisa Lavender.
Not only did the Smokin' Hot Steam Team and the Express players get their introduction, but they had a little something else in store for the crowd.
"The players and the [Steam Team] were able to show a little bit of their personalities to the public," Lavender said.
The Steam Team members were asked to answer a few questions to entertain the crowd and head coach Mark Steinmeyer gave a more comedic introduction to the players on the 2012 roster giving the audience a good laugh and the players something to smile about.
2008 member of the University of Florida National Championship Team, Troy Epps, felt right at home being in the spotlight with the Express.
"Feels like being in Florida again," Epps said, "getting back to that excitement is just a good feeling."
Also getting their main introduction were the kids associated with the organization. The Junior Express, the youth football team, was given some face time on the stage, while the hip-hop dance crew, Junior Junction, gave a show-stopping performance that had bystanders in the mall stopping to catch a glimpse.
"I'm really excited," Lavender said, "To see the Junior Express get to play before our games and be part of game night."
The Reading Express team is really eager to get the season started.
"It's going to be a great experience this year with such a good team," Epps said, "Everybody is willing to work hard at the goal that everybody is trying to achieve."
