RazorSharks Win 23rd Straight at Home; Beat Maryland 122-112

(Rochester, NY)...The defending American Basketball Association champion Rochester RazorSharks won their 23rd consecutive game on home court on Saturday night, tying a Rochester professional basketball record for consecutive home wins as they beat the Maryland Nighthawks 122-112 to improve to 9-4 on the season. The RazorSharks last lost on home court back on Thanksgiving night, November 24, 2005 against the Niagara DareDevils. They are 24-2 all-time at The Blue Cross Arena.

The CBA Rochester Zeniths won 23 straight home games at the Dome Arena during the 1978-79 season and the NBA Rochester Royals won 23 straight home games at the Edgerton Arena from Nov. 1, 1949, through Feb. 7, 1950.

Forward Eric Coley had 22 points and four rebounds to lead Rochester, and Demond Stewart added 18 points, James "Mook" Reaves had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Jamal Nichols contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. Dennis Edwards led Maryland (6-7) with 23 points.

The RazorSharks try to break the Rochester professional basketball consecutive home wins record on Thursday, December 28 as they host the Cape Cod Frenzy at 7:05 p.m.
