Bellingham Slam News Release

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Forward Michael Parker scored 42 points and collected 10 rebounds as the Bellingham Slam earned a physical American Basketball Association win against the Tijuana Dragons, 147-124, at Whatcom Pavilion on Friday night.

Playing Tijuana for the second straight night, the Slam once again piled on the points early and led by 19 at halftime, 76-57.

But unlike the night before, the Dragons would not go away easily. Playing without their head coach and Thursday's leading scorer Mike Jones for the entire second half after both were ejected from the game, Tijuana fought back and trimmed the deficit to 11 with 8:44 left in the game. But Bellingham responded with a 16-6 run in the next four minutes to restore a 20-point lead.

Parker led four Slam players in double figures, with guards Brandon Hartley and Jacob Stevenson scoring 27 and 26 points, respectively.

Forward Kareem Grant led the undermanned Dragons with 41 points and 10 rebounds.

The Slam next play at King County on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 8 p.m.
