Razorsharks take bite out of Augusta, win 117-99

Augusta, GA- Keith Friel hit for a team high 25, and Rochester outrebounded Augusta 48-28 on their way to a 117-99 victory over the Groove.

Augusta led by as many as ten in the first as they took a six point lead at the end of one, but then Rochester stormed back. On the strength of an 11-0 run to start the quarter, Rochester took a five point lead just 2:02 into the second. Augusta would retake the lead a couple of minutes later on a Cory Sims jumper, and would go back up six on a Donielle Davis three ball from the right corner. With 2:37 to go in the half, Jerice Crouch hit a three, and Rochester would hold the lead for the rest of the contest.

In the second half, the RazorSharks would pull away as Keith Friel heated up from the outside, and Rochester continued to pound the boards getting numerous second chance opportunities.

For the Groove, who drop to 8-8, Donielle Davis had a game high 26 with Demitrius Howard adding 19. Along with Friel's 25, James Reaves had 21 while Derik Hollyfield added 19.

Augusta and Rochester will face off once again on Friday night in Rochester. The RazorSharks remain just a half game behind Wilmington for first place in the Eastern Division.

Notes: Rochester's bench outscored Augusta's 49-27. Rochester shot 52.9 percent from the field compared to 45.6 percent for the Groove.
