
RazorSharks open with 103-73 win over Baltimore Pearls

(Rochester,New York)...The Rochester RazorSharks rattled off nine straight points midway through the third quarter to break open a tight game at Baltimore last night to win their regular season opener 103-73. The RazorSharks used 13 second half points by guard Keith Friel and played off of the defensive lead of Eric Coley to earn their first win of the new season. James "Mook" Reaves added 17 points and nine rebounds while Demond Stewart dropped in 13 points and added three steals.
Rochester travels to Long Island on Saturday, November 11 to tip-off against the Strong Island Sound at Suffolk Community College at 7:00 p.m. The Sound are 0-1 after losing to Baltimore by two points last Saturday night. The RazorSharks return to Rochester for their season opener at The Blue Cross Arena on Thursday, November 16 at 7:05 p.m. against the Buffalo Silverbacks.
LOU GRAMM, MAYOR DUFFY HEADLINE OPENING NIGHT Rochester Mayor Robert Duffy and local rock legend Lou Gramm will participate in the opening night ceremonies when the RazorSharks raise the 2005-2006 ABA championship to the rafters of The Blue Cross Arena on November 16. Mayor Duffy, a former college basketball player, will assist the team in raising the championship banner while former Foreigner lead singer Gramm belts out the national anthem. The first 2,000 fans will receive a commemorative championship poster, courtesy of the Arc Foundation of Monroe.
INJURY REPORT - RazorSharks guard Nigel Moore had surgery on his left knee to correct a slight meniscus tear last week and will be out 3-4 weeks....Guard Caleb Gervin did not make the trip to Baltimore because of a hamstring pull...Guard Kevin Peters bruised an ankle during the Baltimore game and is listed day-to-day.
