Bellingham Slam News Release

Bellingham, Wash. - The American Basketball Association's Bellingham Slam announced that the team has signed two reserve players to its roster today. Signing with the Slam are guard Chris Ferguson and center Kyle Dalvit. Making the announcement was Slam general manager Robert Hofstetter.

Ferguson, a 5'9" guard, comes to Bellingham after playing last season with the Tijuana Dragons. A native of Los Angeles, Ferguson was named student-athlete of the year in high school and attended college at Evergreen State with Slam teammate Mike Parker. In two years at Evergreen State, Ferguson shot 42 percent from the floor and 31 percent from three-point range.

Dalvit, a 6'11" center, is a Bellingham native and a graduate of Sehome High School. Dalvit played two seasons at Western Washington, red-shirting one, before transferring to Whitman College. In two seasons at Whitman, Dalvit averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. After graduating in 2004, Dalvit has spend the last two seasons playing professionally in Germany.

The two signings today bring the Slam's roster total to ten. With training camp already underway, Hofstetter expects the Slam's current roster to remain unchanged for the team's first road game on Sunday.

The Slam's first home game of the 2006-07 season will take place Nov. 16 against the Hollywood Fame. Single game tickets as well as season ticket packages are currently on sale.
