RazorSharks hit road for meeting of division's top teams

(Rochester, N.Y.) - The Rochester RazorSharks (12-3) of the American Basketball Association will travel to Rockville, Maryland this Saturday, January 7 take on the second place Maryland Nighthawks (12-4) at 7:00 p.m. in a battle of the Connie Hawkins Division leaders. The RazorSharks are currently one of the hottest teams in the ABA, winning eight out of their last nine games.

The RazorSharks are coming off a 137-89 home win against Boston Wednesday night, in which nine players scored in double figures, led by guard Julian Blanks, who had 19 points. The Maryland Nighthawks have been off since December 30 when they defeated the Newark Express 96-95, and are led by former Syracuse University star Lawrence Moten and guard Randy "White Chocolate" Gill.

Rochester has been victorious in the two previous meetings between the team's this season, including an impressive 126-96 win at the Blue Cross Arena on December 10. Maryland is currently ranked #3 in the ABA's power rankings, while Rochester is #5.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the internet at www.marylandnighthawks.com.

TEAM NOTES: Guard Keith Friel and Forward Troy Brown missed Wednesday night's game with a stomach flu, but both are probable for Saturday's game at MarylandSthe RazorSharks travel to Buffalo to meet the Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11Sat the midway point of the the RazorSharks season, they lead the ABA in attendance with an average of 2,986 fans per game in The Blue Cross Arena.

NEXT HOME GAME: The RazorSharks will be back home at The Blue Cross Arena on Saturday afternoon, January 14, to take on the Baltimore Pearls on at 2:05 p.m.
