
Atlanta Vision bring in the new year with win against Birmingham Magicians 87-84

ATLANTA, GA- The Atlanta Vision showed their determination and focus coming from a ten point deficit to defeat the Birmingham Magicians coached by Jim Farmer. Vision fans where at the edge of their seats as they watched exciting ABA basketball and treated by movie pass give-a-ways and Vision dance team entertainment
The first quarter ended with a two point lead for the Vision. Both teams battled back and forth with great defensive efforts to end the half with a 38 to 38 tie.
Atlanta Vision halftime activities continued with give-a-ways from Disney's Glory Road and AmeriSuites Hotel. During the 'Amerisuites Old School Free Throw Contest," the young at heart competed by shooting the ball "old school" style between the legs for a chance to win a two night stay at the Amersuites Hotel located in the heart of Lithonia. Paul Martin, Jr, who is the older brother of Vision player, Robert "50" Martin, was the winner of the weekend stay and added, " It was great to celebrate my brother's birthday with a win for the team and a prize for me."
Birmingham pulled out of the block in the third quarter with a vengence to create a 10 point lead. Mike Dean led the Magicians with 23 points for the night along with Steve Horne with 20 points. The young Vision team kept their composure and pulled away in the fourth quarter. Leading scorers for the vision were Cedric McGinnis and Olushala Ajanaku with 24 and 15 points respectively.
