The Bucks quickly got on the scoreboard and quieted the big crowd as defenseman Steve Makway registered his first as a professional just 2:26 into the game on a Laredo power play. The Rayz answered as forward Matt Noga tallied a power play goal at 14:37. Then at 17:50 Rayz forward Ken McKay scored another power play goal to put Corpus Christi on top 2-1. The Bucks out shot the Rayz 11-9 in the period.

Only 1:45 into the second the Bucks tied it on the power play goal as forward Adam Paiement drove the puck into the net for his third of the year.

The game was then stopped for 45 minutes due to a problem with the glass.

When play resumed, Bullock untied the game with yet another power play goal at 8:27 of the second to make it 3-2 Corpus Christi. Just under three minutes later Bucks forward Steve Simoes tied the game with an unassisted even strength goal at 11:25. It was the second of the year for Simoes. Corpus Christi again had the answer as Bullock tallied his second of the night at 15:19, this time even strength to make it 4-3 Rayz. Late in the period the Bucks thought they had tied the score, but the puck went into the net just after the horn had sounded to end the period. The Rayz outshot the Bucks 15-13 in the frame.

In the third period Paiement struck again as he fired a gorgeous wrist shot upstairs into the top corner of the net at 5:37 to tie the game 4-4. It was his second of the night and fourth of the season. Late in the third period the Bucks went on the power play, but instead it was Corpus Christi taking advantage. McIver scored shorthanded at 9:42 to give the Rayz a 5-4 lead. McIver then sealed the game with an empty net goal for his second of the game at 19:08. FINAL SCORE Corpus Christi 6, Laredo 4.

Bucks goalie Jeremy Symington allowed five goals on 35 shots and took the loss to drop to 1-1-0. Rayz goalie Josh Blackburn stopped 31 of 35 shots to get the win. The Bucks were 2-5 on the power play, while Corpus Christi was 3-5.
