The Princeton Rays beat the Pulaski Yankees, 4-3, on July 31 at Hunnicutt Field. The Rays scored first with one run in the 1st, two in the 3rd, and one in the 10th. Pulaski scored their only three runs in the 4th. Ruben Paredes gets the win for the Rays. Andrew Schwaab takes the loss for the Yankees.
In the Appalachian League East standings, the Princeton Rays are in first place at 22-15. The Pulaski Yankees are second in the East at 22-16.
Peter Maris was the first to score for the Rays in the 1st inning from a single by David Olmedo-Barrera. In the 3rd, the Rays put two more on the board off of a home run by David Rodriguez, bringing Brett Sullivan home. The Yankees scored their only three runs in the 4th. Allen Valerio hit a home run. Frank Frias made it home off of a home run by Carlos Vidal. The game went into extra innings, with the Rays sealing the deal in the 10th. Sullivan scored from a single by Olmedo-Barrera.
