
Rattlers Casey Powell Named MLL Offensive Player of the Week

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rattlers attackman Casey Powell was named the Major League Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week today, following his nine-point performance at Bridgeport last Thursday. The honor marks the second time this season that Powell has won the award.
Powell netted a team-record eight goals and chipped in one assist in a 23-18 victory at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on August 14th. With the win, the Rattlers finished the 2003 campaign with a 5-7 record. Powell finished the year as the league's scoring champion for the second straight season. In 2002, he notched 68 points for the Long Island Lizards.
This season, the three-time MLL All-Star registered a career-high 37 goals and 32 assists. In addition, he set new Rattler single-season standards for assists and points.
Powell is the league's all-time scoring leader with 191 points. The Syracuse University product was acquired in an offseason trade with Long Island.
