Cannons Play Lizards in MLL Semifinals Friday

The Cannons play the Long Island Lizards in the MLL Semi-Finals this Friday August 22 at 8:00PM at Villanova Stadium, Philadelphia, PA. After losing at New Jersey 21-18 on Thursday August 14 (See story below), the Cannons fell to the fourth overall seed in the MLL's 2003 Championship Weekend. The game between Long Island and Baltimore on Sunday August 17 was cancelled due to continual thunderstorms in the area, as well as poor field conditions, following a two-hour lightning-delay. Thus the Lizards were awarded the top seed at Championship Weekend.
Should the Cannons win on Friday, Boston would play in the MLL Championship game at 4:00PM on Sunday August 24 against the winner of the Baltimore/New Jersey game, played at 5:00PM on Friday August 22.
Friday's game marks the first time the Cannons and Lizards are matched-up in the postseason. In the previous two seasons the Cannons have faced the Baltimore Bayhawks in the Semi-Finals, losing both games. The Cannons are 1-1 against the Lizards in 2003, winning 17-13 on July 6 and losing 18-12 on July 24. Both games were played at Cawley Stadium. The Cannons are 4 and 6 all-time against Long Island.
Cannons fans can follow the team throughout the playoffs on the Boston Cannons Web Radio Network presented by New Balance. Friday's broadcast will feature a special half-hour pregame show beginning at 7:30pm, with faceoff following at 8:00pm (See story below).

Cannons fans follow the team throughout the 2003 playoffs by logging on to the Boston Cannons Web Radio Network presented by New Balance. The network will broadcast the Cannons Semi-Final game against Long Island beginning with a special half-hour pregame show at 7:30PM, followed by all the live play-by-play at 8:00PM. Should the Cannons advance to the Championship, fans can hear the live webcast starting at 3:30PM, with live play-by-play beginning at 4:00PM.
