ALBANY, NY - A Tim Conboy shot through a screen with under a minute to play spoiled a solid performance by goaltender Marc Denis, as the Norfolk Admirals (27-44-2-5) fell to the Albany River Rats (43-28-3-4) 2-1 on Wednesday night at the Times Union Center.

Albany took a 1-0 lead 7:21 into the first period when Nicolas Blanchard squeezed a wraparound shot between the stick-side post and left leg of Denis.

Norfolk tied the game at 1-1 late in the second period while the teams skated four-on-four. Vladimir Mihalik took a shot from the high slot that bounced off Albany netminder Justin Peters and back into the slot. Brandon Segal spotted the rebound and sent it into the cage at 17:50.

Conboy's last minute shot came from the right point, as it traveled through a maze of bodies in front of an unsuspecting Denis on its way into the net with only 49.6 seconds remaining.

Denis (26 shots, 24 saves) was saddled with the loss. Justin Peters (24 shots, 21 saves) earned the victory.

Norfolk was 0-5 on the power play. Albany was 0-6.
