O'Fallon, MO - The River City Rascals current Assistant General Manager Chris Franklin will be promoted and add the title of Vice President as announced Monday by team General Manager Jamie Toole.

Franklin began in River City, the O'Fallon based professional baseball team who competes in the Independent Frontier League, in the 2006 off-season when he worked as the Director of Ticket Sales. He joined the Rasacls after serving in the front office of the Joliet JackHammers of the Independent Northern League.

In the 2007 off-season Franklin received his first promotion inside his new organization as he was named as the assistant general manager.

"I am extremely excited about the continued opportunity I have with the River City Rascals," Franklin said. "Our ownership and management group has allowed me to grow with this organization and I look forward to helping make the River City Rascals the number one family entertainment choice in St. Charles County for years to come."

Toole has been the Rascals GM since the end of July and has been impressed with what he's seen from his assistant.

"Chris is an anchor of the Rascals staff and we are pleased to reward him for the work has put into this organization."

Under Franklin's direction, the Rascals are pleased to announce increases in season ticket and group ticket sales in 2008. The 2008 season has been the Rascals tenth in O'Fallon after moving from Zanesville, Ohio in 1999 and the home season concludes August 26 through the 28 against the Gateway Grizzlies.

The Rascals can be contacted at (636) 240-BATS and found online at RiverCityRascals.com.
