Raptors host Bandits in UIF quarter-final match-up

Rockford, Illinois - Fresh off a Central Division title, the Rock River Raptors will begin their quest for a spot in the United Bowl Championship game with a quarter-final battle against the Sioux City Bandits at the MetroCentre on Saturday, July 15th, 2006 Kick-off is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. and can be heard live on ESPN 1380-AM "The Jock" and on 93.7-FM "The Big Easy" Pre-game with Andy Gannon and Kyle Jacob begins at about 7:10 p.m. Raptors Park begins a 5:30 p.m. and will include an inflatable, clown, face painting and FUN, FUN FUN.

Log on to www.espn1380.com, www.wekz.com and on www.raptorsuif.com Fan's attending the game at the MetroCentre and encouraged to wear anything that is green and "Paint the Rock Pile Green." Play-off shirts will be on sale as well. Rock River brings an 11-4 record into Saturday's showdown. The Raptors also have won eight out of their last nine games including the last four in a row.

Sioux City needed a win over Peoria and Raptors win over Ohio Valley to make the play-offs as the number six seed. The Bandits ended the regular season with a 6-9 record. That win over the Roughrider snapped a four-game losing streak for Sioux City.

Saturday's match-up will feature one of the UIF's best offense against one of the leagues best defense. The Raptors locked up the third seed in the play-offs by winning the Central Division.

Rock River ended the regular season third in the UIF in scoring with a 44.6 average while Sioux City set a season record for least yards allowed with 2,611, breaking the old record of 2,703 set by the Ohio Valley Greyhounds last season.

With a win this Saturday and the Raptors advance to the semi-finals and a third match-up against the Lexington Horsemen. Saturday's meeting will be the first of the season between the Raptors and the Bandits.
