Rock River Raptors News Release

Rockford, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors are a relatively new face around the Rockford area when compared to other sports franchises such as the Icehogs or Riverhawks, but more and more fans are coming to experience the excitement that is indoor football.

In only their second year of operation in Illinois, the Raptors have shown that they are being embrace by the Rock River Valley and are having a big impact on the community.

This season, the Raptors welcomed over 25,000 fans through the gates of the Metro Centre during the regular season, showing huge strides for the organization. The biggest night of attendance came on June 30, the final regular season home game, when 4,121 Raptors fans packed the arena. The average attendance for single games during the season was 3,188.

They are also the only team in the UIF in 2007 to show an increase in attendance during the final four games of the regular season.

The Raptors have already surpassed last year's total attendance mark, even with a home playoff game being played in the 2006 season. This year, the Raptors hope to be playing in more than one playoff game inside the Metro Centre, and with the thousands of fans behind them, are more than capable of bringing home a United Bowl championship to Rockford.
