Sault Ste. Marie, ON - The Kitchener Rangers clinched a playoff spot on Friday night after coming out with a 7-3 victory against the Sarnia Sting. They look to keep their five-game win streak alive in the Soo taking on the Greyhounds in a Sunday afternoon match at the GFL Memorial Gardens. The puck will drop at 2:07 pm.

This Season:
The Kitchener Rangers and Soo Greyhounds have played each other three times this season with Kitchener trailing the season series 1-2-0-0. Their last meeting was in the Soo on January 26th when the Rangers fell short 4-3. Matthew Sop earned the game's second star after a goal and assist and Eduard Šalé (Seattle Kraken) netted the second Rangers goal. Greyhounds Marco Mignosa, Matthew Virgilio, and Gavin Hayes (Chicago Blackhawks - 2G) netted the goals. Kirill Kudryavtsev (Vancouver Canucks) recorded three assists while Jordan D'Intino, Bryce McConnell-Barker (New York Rangers), Jacob Frasca, Owen Allard and Christopher Brown each had one assist.

The Blueshirts are on a five-game winning streak after defeating Guelph, Mississauga, Sudbury, Peterborough, and most recently Sarnia in succession. On Friday night against Sarnia, Carson Rehkopf (Seattle Kraken) had a stand-out, career-high night with six points (2G, 4A). Matthew Sop grabbed two goals and one assist, Filip Mešár (Montreal Canadiens) had one goal and two assists, and Trent Swick had one goal and one assist. Hunter Brzustewicz (Calgary Flames) tallied two assists, and Matthew Andonovksi (Ottawa Senators) grabbed one assist. Olivier Savard closed the scoring, scoring his first goal as a Ranger.
Rangers to Watch:
Carson Rehkopf (Seattle Kraken) is back at the among the league leaderboards as the top goal scorer with 47 goals, and sits third in points with 84, third in power-play goals with 14, tied for the most game-winning goals with eight, and first for insurance goals with nine. Rehkopf has at least a goal in four straight while he is also on a seven-game point streak, where he has tallied 10 goals and eight assists.
Hunter Brzustewicz (Calgary Flames) leads the league in assists and is tied with Matthew Sop for the second most points on the Rangers with an 11-69-80 stat line. Brzustewicz also has the most Rangers power-play assists (20) and the second-best plus/minus of 30. He is currently on a five-game point streak with nine points (three goals and six assists).
Matthew Sop ranks fifth in league scoring with a 37-43-80 stat line in 56 games. He is the fourth in goals and is tied with Carson Rehkopf in most game-winning goals (8). He is currently on a four-game point streak and goal streak with 10 points (6G, 4A).
Goaltending:
Jackson Parsons played in the Rangers' most recent game on Friday night against the Sarnia Sting finishing the game allowing three goals on 32 shots for a .906 save percentage. Parsons has the fourth-best goals-against average in the league at 3.05 and has a .896 save percentage. His overall season record is 23-14-1-0 record.
Tristan Malboeuf has played 20 games this season with a 13-5-1-0 record. In his appearances, Malboeuf has a 3.40 goals-against average and a .871 save percentage. His last start was against the Peterborough Petes on February 19th, where he was faced with 34 shots allowing two against to finish the game with a 2.00 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.

Greyhounds to Watch:
Jack Beck (Calgary Flames) leads the Greyhounds in scoring with 20 goals and 49 assists for 69 points. Beck also leads the Greyhounds in assists, and the OHL in power play assists (26). Over his last five games, Beck has seven points, one goal, and six assists being pointless in two of the games.
Kirill Kudryavtsev (Vancouver Canucks) is leading the Greyhounds defencemen with five goals and 37 assists. Against the Rangers, Kudryavtsev has one goal and four assists in the most recent game having three assists.
Travis Hayes is leading the Greyhound rookies in points with 34. Hayes was selected by the Soo Greyhounds in the second round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. Over his last 10 games, Hayes has eight points (5G, 3A).
Goaltenders:
Charlie Schenkel's season record is 24-11-2-0 which puts him in a tie for the third most wins in the league. Schenkel has a 3.14 goals against average and a .883 save percentage. Schenkel's last outing came against Windsor on February 18th, where the Greyhounds fell 6-4. He allowed four goals on 11 shots in the loss.
Landon Miller has played 24 games this season with a 13-5-0-1 record. He has a 2.85 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. Miller last played on Saturday night against the Peterborough Petes where he saw 20 shots allowing two against for a .900 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average.
