Rangers extend streak to four

Kitchener ON: 6026 fans witnessed the Kitchener Rangers overthrow the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 5-1 at The Aud. Nazem Kadri tallied 3 points with two goals and one assist.

Nazem Kadri opened the scoring at 0:41 mark on a wrist shot over the shoulder of Kyle Gajewski. Anthony Peluso answered back for the Greyhounds on a shot that slipped through the legs of Josh Unice at the 4:43 mark. On a power play, Robert Bortuzzo got his first goal of the season to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead.

The score remained 2-1 until Kadri scored his second goal of the game on a great individual effort at 5:03 of the third period. Mike Duco deflected a Bortuzzo point shot to give the Rangers a 4-1 lead. Phil Varone closed out the scoring on a three-way passing play with Brandon Mashinter and T.J. Battani.

Unice stopped 24 of 25 shots to pick up his 18th win of the year and lowered his GAA to 2.21.

The Rangers return to action for their final game before Christmas break when they face John Murray and the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday at 2:00pm.
