Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

The Grand Rapids Rampage has announced that former Michigan State quarterback Ryan Van Dyke has been signed as Chad Salisbury's backup and that Jose Davis has been placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. Davis will miss a minimum of two games on injured reserve.

After playing in 24 games with Michigan State, Van Dyke went to training camp with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants. He led NFL Europe in passing as a member of the Cologne Centurions in 2004 after completing 174-of-280 for 2,003 yards and 16 touchdowns. Van Dyke also gained 157 yards and added three touchdowns rushing.

Van Dyke has played in three AFL games over the last two seasons, including two this season with the Los Angeles Avengers completing 9-of-16 passes for 68 yards and two interceptions. He made his first AFL start on February 12 against the Rampage.

Prior to his days at MSU, Van Dyke led Marshall High School to a 12-1 record and a second-place finish in the Michigan state playoffs as a senior in 1997. That year, he tossed for 1,996 yards and 25 scores en route to being named among the nation's top 30 players and was a SuperPrep and PrepStar All-American.

Van Dyke will make his Rampage debut tomorrow night when the team takes on the Las Vegas Gladiators at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas at 10:30 p.m. The game can be heard live on WBFX 101.3 FM or by logging onto RampageFootball.com.
