Rampage Sign Three, Including GK Richey
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford Rampage of the Major Indoor Soccer League announce the signing of three players -- goalkeeper Jeff Richey, and midfielders Matt Baker and Adnan Ejupovic. Per team policy, terms of their agreement are not released.
Richey secured the starting goalkeeper slot during his tenure with the Chicago Storm from 2004 to 2009. The Fort Wayne, Ind., native set a career high with 226 saves during his 2008-09 season with the Storm. He also played for the U.S. Futsal National Team in 2008. He started in three matches, saved 58 shots and allowed only four goals as the U.S. took third place in the CONCACAF Futsal Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The Americans advanced to the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Matt Baker recently played for the University of Pittsburgh, leading the Panthers with four assists during his 2009 senior season. Adnan Ejupovic (pronounced AD-non A-you-po-vich) formerly played with the University of Illinois-Chicago, playing in 20 matches during his 2006 senior season.
The Rampage (6-10) hit the road for their final four regular-season matches, taking on the first-place Milwaukee Wave (10-6) at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Rockford is 3-3 on the road this season and is looking to win the season series against Milwaukee, currently sporting a 3-2 record head-to-head against the Wave.
