Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

The Grand Rapids Rampage's 2004 season schedule was officially released today. Highlights include five Saturday home games, and a visit from former Rampage star players Clint Dolezel and Terrill Shaw, who both became members of the Las Vegas Gladiators this off-season.

The team's seventh season opens in Chicago on Sunday, February 8th on NBC. The following week, the Rampage will open their home schedule when they host the Colorado Crush at Van Andel Arena. Kickoff will be at a special noon start-time, as later that evening the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins will host the defending Calder Cup Champion Houston Aeros.

The following Sunday familiar faces will be in Grand Rapids as Clint Dolezel, Terrill Shaw, and their new team - the Las Vegas Gladiators - come to town. Dolezel and Shaw each played for the Rampage from 2001-2003, where the duo led the Rampage to the ArenaBowl XV Championship on August 19, 2001. This will be the first time since 2000, when Dolezel was a member of the Houston ThunderBears, that he has played in Van Andel Arena as a member of an opposing team.

The Rampage hit the road next for two Saturday contests, at San Jose and then Dallas, before returning home to host the Los Angeles Avengers on March 14. In week seven, the Rampage will have a bye week, before facing four division rivals in the next five weeks.

The inter-state rivalry between Michigan's two biggest cities kicks off on Saturday, April 10th as the Rampage look to avenge their playoff loss to the Fury when they visit the Motor City.

The Rampage will host three games in May - all on Saturdays. May 1st will feature the expansion Austin Wranglers coming to Van Andel Arena, on May 8th the division rival Chicago Rush will make the trip, and on May 29th, the regular season will conclude when the Rampage host cross-state rival Detroit, who knocked the Rampage out of the playoffs last season.

The heavy Saturday schedule sits well with the team. "Our fans have told us they prefer Saturday games" said Scott Woodruff, executive director of development for the team. "With five home Saturday games this season, it is likely that six or seven games will sell out this season"

Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 1-888-595-4878. Single-game tickets will go on sale in December.
